Security Tightened: Gilimanuk Port, Bali
To anticipate the flock of ferry passengers from Bali to Java and vice versa during the upcoming Idul Fitri holiday, the Bali Police have tightened security at Gilimanuk Port in Jembrana regency, which links Bali to Banyuwangi in Java.
Bali Chief Police Insp. Gen. Paulus Purwoko has warned motorists to be careful when driving to the Gilimanuk Port from any area in Bali, due to dangerous routes as the article in the Jakarta Post explains.
Purwoko said the police will secure a number of vulnerable spots at the port and nearby areas to prevent any disturbance during the peak holiday season.
“The police were asked to install CCTVs, metal detectors and other equipment to secure the port, but we still heavily rely on our staff,” Purwoko said.
Gilimanuk Port is one of the main entry points to the island of Bali, in addition to Padang Bai Port in Karangasem and Benoa Port near Denpasar.
So far, the security system at Gilimanuk is still minimal in comparison to the number of people who use the port services.

It is horrifying that the major port of Bali
the tourist paradise is actually not secured.
Could the result not be the Bali bombing.
Everyone seems to complain that Indonesia is full of radical muslims “terrorists”. while the movement of weapons in and out is almost free.Above all weapons are not only a danger when they come towards the country illegally, but when they leave it,,
The legal consequences shall be weighted and made more severe, as illegal weapontrade (outwards)
is an international crime as such against international law occasionally closing up to crime against humanity.I am happy if any answer arrives
