In line with its vision of creating the first botanical residential estate in Jakarta, PT Copylas Indonesia, developer of Puri Botanical Residence, has introduced Envirofriends to the community of the Residence.

Envirofriends serves as a medium through which the community of Puri Botanical Residence can show their commitment to the environment by conducting concrete environment-related activities as the Jakarta Post explains.

PT Copylas Indonesia’s senior manager for marketing Dwi Wahyuni said that activities under the Envirofriends program are tree planting, reducing, reusing and recycling.

Under the Envirofriends program, the Puri Botanical Residence community started planting trees categorized as “rare species” at the Residence in the initial phase. “At least 100 rare species will be planted at the Puri Botanical Residence. The species come from the Bogor Botanical Gardens,” she said.

One of the rare species to be planted is Cannarium commune, or the canary tree, which grows in the Bogor Botanical Gardens. The tree, planted in the gardens hundreds of years ago, is one of the park’s main attractions.

The tree planting was conducted to coincide with the Puri Botanical Residence’s second anniversary. The program was themed “One-2 Tree. Let’s Plant A Tree.”

The Puri Botanical Residence opened in 2005.
