Image of the Day: Silence in Sangeh, Bali
When I first visited Sangeh in the late 70’s it was a peaceful retreat from the busy humdrum of the roads and villages outside. The only money you paid was a contribution to the upkeep of the temple and that depended on you what you wanted to give. Nowadays, it is a tourist mecca and you have to pay Rp20,000 to enter. If you ever want to experience the silence in Sangeh, then get there at dawn - it is stunning.
