Hi:
I see that you are the person to ask any question about indonesia… Well I am right now working in southasia earhtquake program with UNICEF in Pakistan. Up in mountains, remote, surrounded with islamic radicals and their rules. It is no life for single woman in particular. You cannot go out, there is no place to go anyway… I am loosing my mind in short.
I traveled to Indonesia twice and falled in love with it. I would like to apply for several jobs in Indonesia but obviously jobs I apply will not be in Bali or Yogya or in Jakarta. I have no idea about the expat life at the moment in Banda Aceh where the jobs I am thinking to apply. After being in Pakistan, I am truly in need of being in a place with bit of extras like having cafes or restuarants, having some social life, being able to get a house (I miss having a place)…I tried to get info from net but it seems all scattered and not well focused. Do you have any idea how life is for an expat in Banda Aceh at the moment? I would appreciate if you can send me an email which I hope will appear in my details in your screen. leave a note on my blog site: Nilgun’s Cafe (in MSN spaces). THANKS!

Hi again:

Once again, I wanted to get an info from you . I am to apply for a post in Kupang. I never been there. How is expat living there? Is it so remote and unaccessible? I want to move my home so how is the housing situation? I have cats.. Would they be happy? basically if I am to make a commitment to a job for year or two, I should make sure it is a good place to go provided with some basics of life. As I said I have been in Northern Pakistan in past year and has been very difficult for us. No place to go out, no socializing, no home, no settling and plust serious security issues. And it is so remote that it is hard to break away from stressful environment. It would be nice if you can tell me about Kupang and Aceh situation for example. Also I think we may have met briefly before somewhere. Your name and picture looks amazingly familiar to me. Maybe indo or elsewhere… I keep thinking and I almost have a blurry vision of meeting you but cannot quite put my finger on it yet. Any way, looking forward to your reply.
Cheers,
Nilgun
