Social Rehabilitation Center: Aceh, Sumatra

The Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) provincial government will soon build a social rehabilitation center for less-fortunate people in the province, Governor Irwandi Yusuf said.

“We are currently making every effort to build a social rehabilitation center for the less-fortunate people in the province,” the governor said.

He added that through the rehabilitation center, the impoverished people in Aceh would be given adequate guidance and training for a better life.

“With the social rehabilitation center, we hope the poor people in the province will lead a better life in the years to come,” he said.

Commenting on the problem of beggars loitering the streets in the provincial capital of Banda Aceh, the governor said the provincial administration would call on the people in the city to avoid giving money to the beggars.

“We will ask the people not to give money to the beggars,” Irwandi said, adding that the local Social Service Office had been instructed to make Banda Aceh clean and beautiful.
