Bule Situations: It’s Raining…

From the wild adventures of Natalie Gamble comes another story. This time it’s about Natalie battling the elements. Hmmm. The story is entitled It’s Raining, It’s Pouring…

‘After my very first road trip with Barrie I needed to download the photos off my camera ready for the next day’s trip (This is when we went to Sanur). Now, me being your typical blonde, when I packed to leave I said to myself that I was only going for 5 days and how many photos could I take in such a short time that I would need to take the cable for the camera, “Not many I said to myself”, boy was I wrong!. So I left the cable at home and you guessed it I needed the cable.

Well lucky for me my sister was over there at the same time and had the same camera as me. So after my daily shopping spree, I went to see Deb at her hotel, the Prawita. While sitting there those big black clouds came rolling over and I thought to myself that it was time for me to move on and get those photo’s done, but by then the rain had come down and it did not stop.

Oh this bloody rain!

So I borrowed Debbie’s umbrella and headed off. As I was leaving, Debbie said to be careful while walking across the little bridge at the hotel as it was slippery and I might slip and, as she said this, I slipped!. Lucky for me I did not land in the fish pond.

I really should have worn my bathers. It had rained that much that the Prawita, where Deb and Barrie stayed, was like one giant swimming pool and the pathways were not much better. Off came my thongs, up went the umbrella and, I was on my merry way to the Internet Outpost on Poppies 2 got the photo’s done and head back to my hotel. Along the way I managed to fall down a pothole in the road. How you ask?. The roads were that flooded that I did not see it. But I arrived back at the hotel safe after this with a sore ankle and a very wet bum’
