Image of the Day: Soka Beach, West Bali, Indonesia
On a recent road trip to the north-central highlands of Bali with a few comrades, one of them being Nick O’Neill of Baliblog fame, we stopped off at a place called Soka Beach on the west coast, not far from Antosari.
It’s quite a picturesque spot with good surf on the outer reefs, a large bay which would be excellent for snorkelling, or if you prefer, just relax besides the padi fields that cover the earth down to the sandy beach.

To make paradise perfect, I found this brand new villa resort close by called Taksu Villas. Absolute beachfront, fantastic accommodation, great food, excellent service, very reasonable rates - best spot in Bali for a complete relax.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info. Muchly appreciated. I\’ll check that out next time I am over in the island of Bali which hopefully should be very soon.
Just want to confirm Tracey’s comment on Soka. It’s really paradise. That’s why I have chosen this place to be my home in the near future. I am in the middle of bargaining a beachfront land there. Unfortunately as beachfront lands are usually huge in size, therefore I am sharing the land with two other friends. If anybody wishes to invest in Bali, I would recommend Soka area,as price of land has increased between 20-50% from April 2007. At the moment the price per 100sqm is still cheap, around US$40-80. compared to the East Coast area. Also, journey by car to Soka will reduce from 1.5 hours to only 30 min. from Denpasar within this coming 3-4 years, as the Sunset Road from Denpasar will be extended as far as closed to Soka. Hope this information is useful.
Hi Maureen,
Your information is greatly appreciated and interesting. Thanks for the input. Interesting to know that eventually the Sunset Road will be close to Soka. Don’t know whether that’s a good thing or not. Soka Beach is so beautiful and it might became spoilt and ‘touristified with a road that close.
God luck and blessings with your new home in paradise.
Dear Barrie,I have a couple of wonderful pictures of Soka in my computer, which I would like to include in your website. Unfortunately I have no idea as to how to do so, but more importantly, is it at all possible. Appreciate your confirmation.
Hi Maureen,
You can send them to my email planetmole@yahoo.com.au and let me know in the subject line what they are. Cheers Maureen.
