A tour through the Tawangmangu forest reserve in Karanganyar, Central Java, will not be complete without savoring the favorite dish of the Lawu slope, nasi geblok, which is only found at Tawangmangu Market, about a kilometer from the tourist spot.

Malioboro Mall offers everything for all manner of shoppers, and, has some excellent restorans. Opening at 10am and closing at 9pm, it is a hive of activity all the day ad night.

By Barrie | No Comments » When you visit Yogyakarta in Central Java, it is a great idea to go up into the mountains near Gunung Merapi and the area around Kaliurang. The cool and fresh atmosphere is invigorating. Not far from Kaliurang is Telogo Putri. There are markets, a monkey forest, a very cold swimming pool and not far from there, there are excellent views of Gunung Merapi.
