Tourism Paradise?: East Timor
It has pristine beaches, lush highlands and an exotic cultural mix - and lies just a few hours flight east of the Indonesian resort island of Bali. But currently almost the only overseas visitors to East Timor are foreign troops, journalists and aid workers after Asia’s youngest nation descended into turmoil last year.
Indonesia to Open Cultural Center: Timor Leste
The Indonesian Embassy in Dili will build an Indonesian Cultural Center in Timor Leste`s capital in cooperation with the central government. Kiki T. Kusprabowo, counsellor at the embassy, told ANTARA News via phone most Timor Leste people were quite able to converse, write and communicate in the Indonesian language.
