Sweet Puddings: Indonesia
In the past, sweet puddings were not a part of traditional menus in Indonesia. The main course was generally the last served. In Java, the tumpeng selamat, a rice cone dish served at birthdays and weddings, is an example of a traditional meal still being served.

‘People’s Pharmacies’: Indonesia
The government has come closer to providing affordable drugs for the public by establishing the Apotek Rakyat (People’s Pharmacy) program to enable people to procure inexpensive over-the-counter and prescribed drugs. The People’s Pharmacy is based on a ministerial decree enacted in March 2007.
Preparing “Visit Indonesia Year”
The government`s culture and tourism department is currently making preparations for the launching of a “Visit Indonesia Year” in the middle of 2007. “A `Visit Indonesai Year` (VIY) is now in the final phase of preparation. We will launch it in July or August,” Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik said.
Bylaws to Improve Environment Conservation: West Lombok
The West Lombok regency administration is drafting a local ordinance on environmental management in an effort to conserve natural resources and protect the environment. The ordinance will also contribute to improved livelihoods for coastal residents and those living on the fringes of forests.
