Image of the Day: Pura Ulu Danau Batur, Bali
Whenever you travel to Kintamani in the north of Bali, have a look at one of the most beautiful temples on the island - Pura Ulu Danau Batur. This sacred temple overlooks Danau Batur and Gunung Batur.
Image of the Day: Taman Sari, Yogyakarta, Central Java
Taman Sari is a part of the Kraton, or Sultan’s Palace, in Yogyakarta. It is a definite ‘must see’ if you are visiting this cultural city. The best times to go are early in the morning and late afternoon when the light is excellent for photography. At both times you will at least avoid the tourist buses that daily fill the carparks.
Image of the Day: Valley View, Bali
Anywhere you go in Indonesia the panorama in the countryside is spectacular, and, Bali is no exception.
Image of the Day: Jimbaran Bay, Bali
Jimbaran Bay on the Bukit Peninsula in Bali is a quite and peaceful place during the day, but, at night it is a bustling haven for tourists who travel there to imbibe in the delicacies of the sea offered at numerous restorans.
Image of the Day: Tanah Lot, Bali
Two of the most photographed temples on the island of Bali are Pura Ulu Danau Bertan in the north of the island on the shores of Lake Beratan, and the other being Pura Tanah Lot. Both places are tourism magnets and if you are planning a trip to visit either of these then I suggest you get there early in the morning or late afternoon.
Image of the Day: Sukawati, Bali
Indonesians have such great facial structure no matter the age and make excellent subjects for photography. A few years back I was in the village of Sukawati in Bali and this delightful aged lady offered to pose for a foto.
Image of the Day: Dracula in Bali
It’s one of those surprises you get when travelling around Indonesia. Candika and I were in Belimbing, Central Bali, and stopped at a quite warung. The owners then showed us their pride and joy - Bats!. The food was good as well!.
Image of the Day: Brahma Vihara Arama, Bali
The sacred Brahma Vihara Arama is located in the north of Bali, south of Singaraja and to the east of Pengastulan. A split-level monastery, its unique feature is on the very top - a replica (albeit small version) of the sacred Borobudur Bhuddist Temple. Of course, my wife Candika being a Bhuddist wanted her foto taken!.
Image of the Day, Singaraja Harbour, Bali
In the north of Bali is located the old capital of Bali, Singaraja. A sleepy town with wide, tree-lined streets, it is a place full of history as well as a delightful harbour.
Image of the Day: Lazing Around,Tenganan, Bali
I am a great lover of dogs and have raised many in my lifetime, and, when I saw this old dog lazing around in the village of Tenganan, East Bali, he was virtually begging for his foto to be taken!.
