Kupang-Language Bible: Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara

kupang-language.jpg A Kupang-based team has finished translating the New Testament into the local language of Timor, called Kupang language. Kupang language is considered to be a symbol of unity in East Nusa Tenggara province. The translation took nine years to complete and is titled Tuhan Allah Pung Janji Baru.

Ancient Batak Plaques Unearthed: Medan, Sumatra

Muslims Must Agree to Determine Islamic Calendar

Linguists Urge Good Indonesian in the Media

Linguists in Bali have called on the mass media to use proper Indonesian to prevent the further spread of bahasa gaul, or slang, across the archipelago. In a discussion organized by the Bali Mass Media Language Forum (FMMB), linguists from the Denpasar-based Udayana University said the media should play a more active role in preserving the Indonesian language.

UN Doesn’t Recognize 613 Islands: Riau, North Sumatra
