Corby Review Appeal Rejected
Convicted Australian drug smuggler Schapelle Leigh Corby is considering various options following the rejection of her appeal by the country’s Supreme Court, says her lawyer. “She has yet to decide what measure she will take regarding the Supreme Court’s decision,” Erwin Siregar said on Saturday. The 30-year-old Corby was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Denpasar District Court in May 2005 for the illegal possession of 4.2 kilograms of marijuana.

Eco-tourism Expands in Bali
The eco-tourism industry is on the steady increase in Bali, with many living around or near beaches, hilly areas, paddy fields or forests conserving and managing their land for tourists, coordinator of the Bali Ecotourism Study Group, AA Gde Raka Dalem, says. Raka is working with a team from Udayana University, to collect data on eco-tourism in Bali. He said the growth was sparked by an aggressive movement to “get back to nature”, including how to behave in an environmentally friendly manner.
